The supply police have launched security campaigns nationwide to control markets and arrest those trading on the black market.
Security crackdown on smuggled goods are being launched upon directives issued by Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to intensify surveillance on markets to fight commercial fraud and control prices.
Some 20 tons of rice, 14 tons of sugar, 7 tons of cooking oil and 19 tons of flour were seized nationwide before being sold on the black market.
All legal procedures were taken and the public prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
