A blast erupted in Kabul on Thursday close to a compound that houses many international contractors, witnesses told AFP, the latest in a series of explosions in the city.
"It was close to us here," a security contractor based in the Green Village compound in the Afghan capital told AFP.
An AFP photographer heard gunfire at the scene shortly after the blast.
