The Ukrainian opposition on Saturday demanded that authorities call early presidential and parliamentary polls after riot police brutally dispersed an opposition rally, reportedly wounding several dozen protesters. "Our demands are the resignation (of interior minister Vitali) Zakharchenko, an investigation of his actions and his trial, the resignation of the government and the president and early presidential and parliamentary polls," top opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk told an emergency briefing. "We have made a joint decision to form a national resistance task force and have begun preparing for a all-Ukrainian national strike."
