A Spanish court on Wednesday acquitted crew members of responsibility for the sinking of the Prestige oil tanker in 2002 which caused a disastrous oil spill on nearby coasts. Judge Juan Luis Pia of the Galicia regional high court said the tanker's Greek captain Apostolos Mangouras, 78, and Greek chief engineer Nikolaos Argyropoulos, 73, "should be absolved" of responsibility for the ship's sinking.
