Incumbent Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin was leading elections in the Russian capital Sunday with more than 53 percent of the vote despite an unexpectedly strong performance by protest leader Alexei Navalny, partial results said. Sobyanin was winning 53.19 percent of the vote and Navalny 25.61 percent, the Moscow election commission said, in a partial count based on 21.5 percent of polling stations reporting.
