Europe\'s main stock markets closed mostly higher on Tuesday despite uncertainty generated by a US government shutdown, with London\'s benchmark FTSE 100 index ending nearly flat at 6,460 points. Frankfurt\'s DAX 30 rose 1.10 to 8,689.14 points and the CAC 40 in Paris climbed 1.28 percent to 4,196.6 points, while Milan\'s FTSE-Mib jumped 3.11 percnet to 17,977 points on hopes of a resolution of Italy\'s political crisis.
