Clashes between jihadist group Ansar al-Sharia and Libyan special forces in the eastern city of Benghazi on Monday killed nine people and wounded 49 others, the interior minister said, updating an earlier toll. Seddik Abdelkarim announced the latest toll from the capital Tripoli, reading from a government statement. Medics in Benghazi's Al-Jala hospital had earlier reported five soldiers killed and 29 people wounded, including 10 civilians, in Monday's fighting.
