Two female suicide bombers carried out the attacks in northeast Nigeria's Maiduguri city that killed more than 45 people on Tuesday, a senior security source told AFP.
"What we have is a case of suicide bombings involving two females.... The first bomber stood by a rickshaw that was loaded with goods," said the source based in Maiduguri, who requested anonymity.
"She blew up, so people thought the bomb was concealed in the rickshaw.... About 10 minutes later another woman who looked about 19 and carrying what looked like a baby... detonated the bomb on her back," he said.
