Iraq President Jalal Talabani and the Leader of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakeem on Friday discussed the political situation in Iraq and means to work out problems.The two sides discussed as well the necessity to adopt serious steps forward toward ending the problems and remove obstacles hindering the political process; they also stressed the importance to consolidate relations between all political forces, especially between the Kurdish Alliance and the SIIC, a statement of the President s Office said, \" The Second Meeting will be held on Saturday with an expected participation of all political leaders, the statement added. \"We hope that we agree on executing the agreements and move ahead,\" it quoted Talabani as saying. For his part Hakeem said the meeting was a good opportunity toward discussing main developments in Iraq, the region and the world, as well as the necessity to work together to overcome obstacles. He stressed the importance of continued meetings and dialogue in bringing various points of view close together and calm the political arena.
