Next year's Oscar nominees will be announced on January 15, and the show itself held on February 22 -- back to its regular slot after being held in March this year due to the winter Olympics. The timetable leading up to the Oscars, traditionally the climax of Hollywood's annual awards season, was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Its Governors Awards will be held on November 8, while the Academy's 6,000-odd voting members will cast their ballots for nominations from December 29 until January 8, with the lucky nominees will be announced a week later. Those nominated will gather for the traditional nominees' luncheon on February 2, while final voting will run from February 6 until February 17. The 87th Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre from 4:00 pm Sunday, February 22,(0000 GMT Monday). This year's Oscars were held on March 2, later than usual to avoid clashing with the Sochi Winter Olympics, which ran from February 7-23.
