After the success of the last round of \'Independent Combo,\' which brings together independent artists in performances in the Rawabet Theatre, the combo is back with performances starting 8 April. The first performance, 8 April, will be the Choir Project, where a group of people come together for several workshops in which they produce music for the choir and sing along with it. While it started simply as the \'Cairo Complaints Choir,\' in 2011 much of the music took a revolutionary turn. On 9 April, Yosra El-Hawary, Aya Mostafa and May Walid will each be performing a music set along with some duets. Each of the emerging musicians has her own unique style and instruments, but together they make for a well rounded performance. Darwasha Band, who mix Arabic folklore with rock/progressive music, will be performing 10 April. El-Tamy Group will be performing on 12 April their new play \'Mad W Gazr\' (High or Low Tide) which is a story based on real life anecdotes and struggles. The last performance is by visiting musicians \'Tangaret Daght\' (Pressure Pot) who use music to express their feelings on the Syrian situation. \"When independent musicians collaborate, it makes us stronger,\" Salam Yousry, curator of the initiative, told Ahram Online during the last combo. All events start at 8pm in Rawabet Theatre. 2 Hussein El-Meamar Street, off Mahmoud Bassiouni Street, beside the Townhouse Gallery.
