The 13th Gulf Radio and Television Festival is due to kick off tomorrow with around 315 media people from government and private sectors competing for awards in various categories.The three-day event is organized by the Gulf Radio and Television Organization.Addressing a pre-event press conference here on Monday, Secretary-General of the Organization Dr. Abdullah Aboras said the festival has opened a venue for competition between private radio broadcasters from the Gulf to thrive and present the best production they can put together.Aboras added that the festival is going to be observed by 70 judges from the Gulf States to choose the best Arab production work and to evaluate the their work, explaining that each competition area or category will have its own award ant not gold, silver, and bronze medal award system.The official said that the festival is not only intended to assess work production and present awards, but represents an opportunity to meet with media figures and officials of both sectors and exchange views and experiences and bolster cooperation among them, adding that the festival also reflects the market for the sale of the business between media organizations.The festival will also present awards honoring more than 50 media figures.
