The Egyptian film Baad El-Mawkeea (After the Battle) by Youssry Nasrallah has been selected by the Cannes Film Festival to take part in the official competition this year. The film, which was previously entitled Reem, Mahmoud and Fatma, takes place during Egypt’s post-January 25 Revolution period and shows the impact of surrounding political events on the film’s characters.
