Two people are dead after a helicopter crashed in dense bushland in Sydney's north, local media reported on Friday.
Emergency workers, reported by Xinhua-0ANA, described the crash site in the Lane Cove National Park, about 10 kilometers north-west of the Sydney center, as horrific.
The Bell 206 went down about 9.15 a.m. (local time) on Friday, startling nearby residents who reported hearing a loud explosion and seeing smoke, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported.
The wreckage was found about 100 meters into the bush, at the bottom of a 10-15m cliff face. "The scene's quite horrific, the chopper has been destroyed." NSW Fire and Rescue Inspector Chris Bishop told reporters.
Local police confirmed two bodies were found.
The dead include the pilot and a single passenger and they are both believed to be male. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is sending a team to investigate the crash. (ANT)
