General Secretary of the National Organization of Moudjahidine (ONM) Said Abadou announced that the organization is planning to submit an initiative to international organizations of former veterans for the condemnation of French colonialism in Algeria. The National Organization of Moudjahidine "will submit an initiative to the veterans organizations around the world to condemn the French colonialism in Algeria and other countries under occupation," said Abadaou in a statement to APS on the eve of the commemoration of the 68th anniversary of the May 8, 1945massacres. "Even if the mission is hard, ONM will continue efforts to mobilize these organizations and come out with a decision that condemns colonialism and requires an apology to the people which were under occupation, in addition to material compensation for killings and plundered wealth at the time, "he said. He stressed that the current international context is "difficult" to achieve this goal but this will not prevent the organization to "pursue this action at the international level in order to condemn colonialism in all its forms." The official said that his organization has "immutable positions with regard to the criminalization of colonialism in Algeria and the importance of apology to the Algerian people for massacres, which are the shame of this colonialism. " He added finally that colonialism "was not limited to the killings but to plunder the wealth of the occupied countries and alteration of identity also," recalling the Allies judgment of the German leaders who have committed, too, war crimes during World War II.
