Two conscripts were killed and nine others wounded in a blast in Arish, according to the media center of the Interior Ministry on Sunday.

An explosive device went off while security men were patrolling El Safa area in Arish late on Saturday, an official at the center said.

The area was combed to make sure there are no more explosives planted there.

The blast came hours after Egyptian police killed 14 terrorists in a desert area in the Suez Canal province of Ismailia.
