Sudan's Blue Nile

A group of insurgents killed two people - a soldier and a civilian, and robbed some shops in Aqedy town in Sudan's southern state of the Blue Nile, near the borders with South Sudan, last night.
Eight robbers infiltrated into the city, killed a civilian and robbed some property before the military troops engaged with them, the military spokesman Al-Sawarmy Khaled Saad said in a press release on Saturday.
The army managed to kill two of the attackers, wounded some others and retrieved the stolen items, he said.
A soldier was killed and another wounded in the gun battle, Saad added.
