Rohan Mustafa hit a solid century and Ali Afzal claimed five wickets as Phoenix Medicines trounced Yogi Group by 110 runs in a one-sided match of the 38th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium. Batting with authority and conviction, Mustafa scored 111 off 109 balls with five fours and two sixes to help his side post a healthy 271 for eight in the allotted 50 overs. Asif Mumtaz (38 off 49 balls), Saifullah (28 off 15) and Shehzad Khalid (22 off 21) chipped in with useful contributions to consolidate the Phoenix Medicines innings. Ajmal Mohammed, Salman Faris and Avadoot took two wickets each, but they failed to upset the rhythm of free-flowing Phoenix batsmen. Yogi Group, in reply, looked a bit out of sorts and were eventually bowled for 161 in the 38th over with Afzal doing most of the damage, snaring five for 59. Saqib Ahmed further added to the woes of Yogi Group batsmen when he picked up three for 40. Anop Revi (27), Swapnil Patil (23), Avadoot (22), Salman Faris (22) and Shadab Khan (22) had good starts but they failed to convert them into big innings they needed to match with the asking rate.
