Wolfsburg chairman Martin Winterkorn has backed Felix Magath to lead the club into Europe this season after yesterday\'s 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen took Die Wolfe back to within five points of the top six. Doubts had been raised over Magath\'s future after two defeats saw them slip back towards the relegation zone, but yesterday\'s victory could prove to be a turning point in their season, according to Winterkorn. \"Had we lost, then it would have become difficult for us,\" he said. \"It was a decisive game.\" With ten games of the season remaining, Wolfsburg can now still aim for a top-six finish, according to Winterkorn, who says Magath is the right man to lead them there. \"We have faith in our coach,\" he told Kicker magazine. \"He is a good coach.\" Magath said his side\'s \'12th man\' had made the difference at the VW-Arena yesterday. \"We have got to thank our fans for their fantastic support, which kept us in the game,\" he said. Bayer Leverkusen coach Robin Dutt said his side\'s injury problems had contributed to their second defeat in four days, despite a good start which he believes should have been rewarded. \"We could have been 3-0 up after 15 minutes and then the game would have been over, it\'s as simple as that,\" he said. \"Then we have five men injured, many changes and too much disorganisation and no more stability. My priority right now is not to look at the league table but to ensure we have a competitive troop next week.\"
