Riyadh - Arab Today
Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel al Jubeir asserted Monday that only the Syrian opposition is concerned with selecting its delegates to an upcoming Geneva meeting.
In statements to Saudi "Riyadh" newspaper on the sidelines of the first ministerial meeting of the Indian-Arab Cooperation Forum held in Bahrain, Jubeir said that the supreme commission for negotiations formed at the Syrian opposition conference in Riyadh is the entity that chose members of the delegation.
He added that the forum condemned interference in other countries' domestic affairs.
He also stressed that the forum welcomed the newly-formed Islamic coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
The minister also denied claims that Pakistan is mediating between Saudi Arabia and Iran to settle the current crisis.
Jubeir reiterated calls for Iran to stop interfering in Gulf countries' domestic affairs as well as stop supporting terrorism in the region.
