Czech foreign minister Lubomír zaorálek

Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek asserted that Egypt's security and stability are very important for the whole Middle East region.

Interviewed by MENA, the Czech diplomat said his country has been among the few European Union members that did not reduce the military exports to the Egyptian army.

It was not an easy mission to defend our stance at the EU, the diplomat said, adding that his country was fully convinced that Egypt's war on terrorism and extremism should be supported.

He also voiced happiness over visiting Egypt three weeks after its House of Representatives started sessions, noting that the formation of the parliament was the last step of Egypt's future roadmap plan that has been followed up by the international law.

The ambassador also voiced hope that the legislative authority in Egypt could be a strong backing to the political status in Egypt and could greatly contribute to democracy in the country.

He also said Czech has welcomed exchange of expertise with the Egyptian government to help resolve a lot of challenges and problems that could face Egypt in the future.

The Czech top diplomat also said his country is attaching importance to the projects of Suez Canal Development Corridor, Easter Port Said zone as well as the plans outlined to propel investment in the free zones.
