Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour asserted on Tuesday that Al Quds city is part and parcel of Palestine.
The Hashemite custodianship of Al Quds' Islamic and Christian holy sites is a sacred duty, Ensour said.
He made the remarks during his meeting with Palestinian Culture Minister Ehab Bseiso who is currently on a visit to Jordan.
During the gathering, attended by Jordanian Culture Minister Lana Mamkegh, the Jordanian premier stressed the importance of supporting two projects to name Al Quds as a capital of Islamic culture for 2019 and Bethlehem as a capital of Arab culture for 2020.
Jordan backs the two projects out of its keenness to stand behind the Palestinian people, Ensour added.
Jordan seeks to attract religious tourism from Malaysia, Turkey and all countries and organize tour programs for pilgrims to stop in Jordan then visit Al Quds, according to Ensour.
He pointed to the Jordanian king's efforts to support the Palestinian cause at all regional and international forums.
For his part, Bseiso briefed Ensour on the efforts exerted by the Palestinian Culture Ministry to name al Quds as capital of Islamic culture for 2019 and Bethlehem as capital of Arab culture for 2020.
