Montpellier - Arab Today
Fiji winger Timoci Nagusa is set to miss six weeks dealing a blow to his side Montpellier's hopes of reaching the Top 14 end of season play-offs, the team announced on Monday.
The 27-year-old -- who has scored over 200 points for Montpellier since joining them in 2010 -- dislocated a shoulder during the 18-13 loss to Toulouse on March 14.
He is definitely set to miss the next three games against relegation-threatened Lyon, fourth-placed Racing-Metro and lowly Brive.
However, France international flanker Fulgence Ouedraogo will be fit to play against Lyon on Saturday as he has recovered from a shoulder injury.
Montpellier have had a rollercoaster season.
They were going strong until their France fly-half Francois Trinh-Duc was seriously injured in early October.
Their form then fell apart with just one win in nine games and head coach Fabien Galthie was effectively replaced in his post by South Africa's 2007 World Cup winning coach Jake White in late December.
The 45-year-old former France captain was given a desk job.
Galthie has subsequently lanched legal proceedings against his club president Mohed Altrad on the basis that he is no longer occupying a role that conforms with his employment contract which runs till June 2017.
Even with White's arrival Montpellier are still lying outside the top six spots which makes up the teams that contest the title play-offs -- they are presently ninth, four points adrift of Grenoble in sixth.
