Canadian teenager Brooke Henderson was granted an LPGA Tour card on Tuesday following her stunning record victory in the Portland Classic.
The 17-year-old became only the third player in history to win an LPGA title before their 18th birthday on Sunday with a remarkable eight-stroke win in Portland.
LGPA commissioner Michael Whan said accepting Henderson's petition for LPGA Tour membership was a formality following the teenager's triumph.
"After reviewing Brooke Henderson's petition, I have granted her LPGA Tour membership beginning immediately," Whan said.
"Brooke truly earned her card, and we are looking forward to Brooke joining our Tour and our family. She is a special player and a wonderful person."
Henderson, who won in Portland after going through qualifying, will now play this week's Canadian Pacific Women's Open as a full-fledged member of the LPGA Tour.
"I am so grateful for the opportunity to join the Tour as a member and play alongside so many of my role models," Henderson said in a statement.
"Realizing this dream here at the Canadian Pacific Women's Open in my native Canada is even more amazing and I am so proud to be an ambassador for golf in this amazing country."
