World powerboat-aquabike championship

Third round of the World Powerboat Class 1 Aquabike Championship kicks off later on Saturday with participation of teams from various countries including Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti champion, Yusuf Al-Abdulrazzak, takes part in the tournament, scheduled off Ibiza island, in a new quest to retain Kuwait's first world title of 2013, facing up to 80 racers from 19 states.
The three-day championship, hosted by Spain for the first time, includes the first round of Formula-1 powerboat race, involving 13 Arab teams.
First rounds of the world aquabikes' championship were held in Doha, Qatar, and Milan, Italy, respectively in March and June. The fourth round is due in China and Abu Dhabi, the UAE, hosts the fifth and final round, in December.
As to the Formula 1 races, they will be held in four stages throughout the year in Ibiza, Sacharoza, Italy, in September. The next rounds will be held in Tirachina, Italy, Abu Dhabi, in October and November, respectively.
The UAE Victory 3 powerboat, driven by Aref Seif Al-Zefain and Mohammad Al-Merri, won the world tournament in the Formula 1 category in 2013.
