Peter Senior, Steve Pate and Chien Soon Lu shared the lead after one round of the 3M Championship, with each carding a 7-under 65. Tied for fourth place at minus-6 were Mark McNulty, Tom Jenkins and Joel Edwards. Sharing eighth at 5-under 67 at the TPC Twin Cities were Joe Daley, Bernhard Langer, Willie Wood, David Frost, D.A. Weibring and Jeff Hart.
