The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) issued the 19th edition of its official magazine “Qatar Sport Magazine”. The newly-released edition is packed with multiple and significant topics including major sport, academic and historical events held in the country recently. The edition contains a brief report highlighted the  participation of Qatar’s delegation in the outgoing London 2012 Olympic Games, beside the sweet memories of the Olympic team who changed the dream into the reality through two Olympian champions. The report showed the festive moments of Qatar after its athletes confidently secured  two  Olympic medals in London 2012 Olympic Games. The Qatari shooter Nasser Al Attiyah has won the bronze medal in the men’s skeet competition during a shoot-off and his countryman, Mutaz Issa Barshim earned bronze medal in the men’s high jump. The edition also published a press release of Qatar’s Olympic team Chef De Mission to London 2012 Olympic Games Mr. Khaleel Ibraheem Al-Jaber who affirmed and said “ Without doubt, the fact of seeing  Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mutaz Barshim on the podium and flag of Qatar raised to glorify their achievement, was my personal highlights of London 2012 hoping that this, being our best participation ever in the Olympic Games in terms of result, would be the start of bright era for Olympic sport in Qatar” added Mr. Al-Jaber. The edition contains a special report about Qatar House (Bayt Qatar) which was inaugurated by Qatar Olympic Committee during  the London 2012  at  Savoy Place and overlooking the banks of the River Thames, the house hosted a series  of exhibitions, programmes and events that explored and celebrated Qatari sports and culture. Also “ Doha Goals” is a new initiative  announced during the Games aims to use the sport  as  strong motive for social and economic change. Additionally,  a productive report about the six edition of schools Olympic program (SOP) under the theme “ Sports and Investment”  has been published in the edition, shows the earlier beginning of the SOP in 2007 amid the participation of 7000 students (male and female) meanwhile the figure now reaches 20000 in 2012 with the participation of 370  government, independent and foreign schools. The report said that the SOP is a pioneering program guided to the students (male and  female) whose age group ranged from five to eighteen years. The student is participating in the SOP along the school year in nine Olympic sports, including:  Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Table-Tennis, Fencing, Gymnastics, Swimming and football. The new edition also published a brief report describing the Middle East Region as  a new partner and vital area will have a significant role in boosting the swimming championship which are not in the area since 15 years ago. The Magazine outlined the growing progress in the Qatar Stars League in 2012-2013 where prominent international football stars are taking part in the event to give more excitement and thrill along the season. A brief report about the London 2012 Paralympic Games is included  on the magazine. It describes the London 2012 as  one of the most popular editions in the history of  the Games since 52 years ago.
