Egypt's national team

Only fans holding tickets for the return leg between Egypt's national team and its Nigerian counterpart will be allowed into the stadium of Borg El Arab Tuesday, said a source at the Interior Ministry said.

The match comes as part of qualifications of the African Cup of Nations to take place in Gabon next year.

The source told MENA that a tight security plan was laid down to secure the match, guarantee the safety of fans and achieve traffic flow.

Surveillance cameras will be installed inside and outside the stadium and along all roads leading to the stadium to report any violation that might disrupt the match.

He warned that necessary legal action will be taken against any violator.

The stadium doors will be closed once all seats are filled to guarantee the safety of fans, he added.

Cars will not be allowed to park in the precincts of the stadium, the source warned.

Police patrols will be deployed along all roads leading to the stadium. Sappers backed by police dogs will comb the stadium and its surroundings till the time of the match, the source said.

He warned fans against using fire crackers or any other form of fireworks, saying only plastic water glasses and juice boxes will be allowed.

The source urged all fans to fully cooperate with security authorities and to support their team in a sensible way away from any fanaticism.

The first leg between the two teams ended 1/1.

On Friday night, AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah netted in stoppage time as Egypt secured a precious 1-1 draw away to Nigeria that kept them at the top of their group in the qualifiers.

The valuable draw put Egypt in a comfortable position before they host the Super Eagles in the second of a double-header at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium Tuesday.

Egypt, who have not qualified for the Nations Cup since winning the last of their record seven trophies in 2010, have seven points from three games, two ahead of Nigeria and three clear of third-placed Tanzania. Chad lie at the bottom with no points.

The winners will automatically reach next year's Nations Cup finals in Gabon.
