Carlos Rogers capped a dominating defensive performance with a fumble return touchdown Sunday and San Francisco smothered the New York Jets 34-0. Rogers\' 51-yard score was the highlight of an impressive game by the 49ers\' defense, which held the short-handed Jets to just 145 yards and nine first downs while forcing four turnovers. His score came off a fourth-quarter fumble by New York receiver Santonio Holmes -- who appeared to suffer a serious leg injury on the play -- and gave San Francisco (3-1) a 24-0 lead. Frank Gore picked up 62 rushing yards and a score on 21 carries and Alex Smith completed 12- of-21 throws for 143 yards in the win. Mark Sanchez was sacked three times, managing just 103 yards on 13-of-29 passing with an interception for New York (2-2).
