Severin Freund of team Germany competes during the first round of the FIS Ski Jumping Team

Germany repeated last year's success when opening the World Cup ski jumping season with a home win at Klingenthal on Saturday.

The Olympic champions led by Severin Freund prevailed with a total of 1021.9 points ahead of Slovenia and Austria.

Switzerland, featuring seven-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann, had to make do with a lowly seventh place.

Sunday sees Freund launch the defence of his crystal globe title in the first individual event of the 2015-2016 season.
