Birkir Bjarnason secured a historic point for Iceland as they drew Tuesday 1-1 with Portugal.

Iceland were making their first appearance at a major tournament and had to do things the hard way after Nani scored the 600th goal in European Championship history to put Portugal into the lead.

However, poor marking cost Fernando Santos' men early in the second half when Bjarnason had plenty of time to pick his spot and volley home Johann Gudmundsson's cross. Hungary tops the group after it defeated Austria 2-0 earlier today.
