Egypt defeated Niger 3-0 in the last round of the African Cup qualifiers here on Saturday, scoring its first win in group G. Striker Marwan Mohsen scored two goals while Mohamed Salah made the other for Egypt. After the match, Egypt accumulated five points to rank fourth in the group and failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations final. Despite the 3-0 loss, Niger, South Africa and Sierra Leone all ended with nine points, but Niger qualified for the final thanks to their superior head-to-head record against their rivals.
