Chinese diver He Chao

He Chao gave the Chinese men's diving team their fourth gold medal from four world championship events in Kazan with a victory in the 3m springboard final on Friday.

After North Korean teenager Kim Kuk-hyang had snatched gold with her final dive in the women's 10m platform final on Thursday, He gave the Chinese their seventh diving gold in total here with three events still to come.

He, the younger brother of He Chong, the 2008 Olympic champion in the event who failed to qualify, claimed his first world title on his championships debut with a winning score of 555.05 points.

Russia's Ilia Zhakarov claimed silver with 547.60pts while Britain's Jack Laugher, who had led after the second round, claimed his second bronze of the Kazan championships having also finished third in the 3m springboard synchro, with 528.90pts.
