Pan-American Indoor Volleyball Cup

Cuba will debut against Costa Rica in the Pan-American Indoor Volleyball Cup next Monday and expects to win one of the five tickets for the 2017 World League, Cuban media reported on Thursday.

According to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, after facing Costa Rica, Cuba will play against Canada in Group B.

The United States, Dominican Republic and Chile are in Group A, while Group C includes Mexico, Honduras, Argentina and Colombia.

The tickets for 2017 World League will be for both NORCECA (North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation) and CSV (South American Volleyball Confederation).

Rodolfo Sanchez, coach of the Cuban team, said some players will be absent from the competition, including Rolando Cepeda, Javier Jimenez and Osmani Uriarte.

According to the Cuban training schedule, the team will also play against the United States on June 4 to 6 in matches to be held at the Coliseum of Havana's Sports City.
