The hosts swept all five titles at the China Masters Super series on Sunday, underlining their immense superiority after pulling off the same feat at the London Olympics. Many of the top players in the world were absent from the tournament in the Chinese city of Changzhou as they take time off after the Games, including men’s gold medallist and Chinese superstar Lin Dan. In his absence, top seed Chen Long soundly beat Hong Kong’s unseeded Hu Yun 21-11, 21-13. Their match lasted just 40 minutes. Chen took bronze in London. Wang Yihan, ranked No 1 in the women’s singles, defeated her fourth-seeded compatriot Jiang Yanjiao, while the women’s doubles team of Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin beat fellow Chinese Cheng Shu and Luo Yu 21-12, 21-15.
