No. 3-seeded Thomas Berdych dropped only two games Wednesday in earning a quarterfinals position at the China Open tennis tournament in Beijing. Berdych defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-2, 6-0 in just more than an hour. It was the sixth time in seven career meetings that Berdych beat Kohlschreiber.
