Glen Davis and J.J. Redick led a hot Orlando shooting performance Friday that brought the Magic a 102-89 win over Denver. Orlando opened its season by hitting 50 percent of its shots from the field while fighting off a would-be rally by the Nuggets in the third period. Davis made 12-of-22 shots, scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He averaged just 9.3 points a game during his first season with Orlando in 2011-12. Redick went 8-of-12 from the field and finished with 23 points. The Magic owned a 58-37 lead at halftime, but saw Denver cut its deficit to just 10 heading into the final period. Denver came no closer than that during the last 12 minutes and fell behind by as many as 20 points. Danilo Gallinari scored 22 to lead the Nuggets, who have lost their first two games of the season.
