Alex Cobb tamed the Blue Jays on one run over seven innings Wednesday, staking the Tampa Bay Rays to a 3-2 decision over Toronto. Cobb (6-8) didn\'t issue a walk and struck out seven in the performance, in which 72 of his 102 pitches were strikes. The right-hander was nicked for five hits. Joel Peralta turned in a scoreless eighth and Fernando Rodney nailed down his 34th save as the Rays clinched their three-game series and stayed in hot pursuit of an American League wild card berth. Tampa Bay scored all three of its runs in the third inning on RBI from B.J. Upton and Jeff Keppinger. Carlos Villanueva (6-2) was tagged with the defeat, surrendering three runs on six hits through six full frames for the Blue Jays. David Cooper homered for Toronto.
