An RBI single by Brandon Crawford in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday gave the San Francisco Giants a 3-2 win over San Diego. Crawford hit a tie-breaking liner to right field off Joe Thatcher (0-4) to bring in Brandon Belt, who had earlier made it to third base on a passed ball. The rally gave the win to Santiago Casilla (4-4), who pitched the ninth in relief of Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner allowed two runs on six hits and struck out nine over seven innings. Edison Volquez turned in a solid start for the Padres with two runs on three hits and eight strikeouts in seven innings. Jesus Guzman and Chris Denorfia each drove in a run for the Padres. Carlos Quentin made a bid to break the 2-2 tie in the eighth with a shot to the gap in left-center with Chase Headley on first base but Angel Pagan made a diving catch and was able to double up Headley.
