Eric Stults allowed three hits over seven innings Friday and drove in three runs in boosting the San Diego Padres to a 5-0 victory over Arizona. The Padres won their fifth in a row thanks chiefly to Stults (4-2), who has won three games with one no-decision since being brought back into the San Diego rotation. He walked one and struck out four during a 103-pitch effort. Stults opened the scoring with a bases-loaded single that brought in two runs in the second inning and he added an RBI double in the fourth. Chris Denorfia had a solo homer and a sacrifice fly. Patrick Corbin (5-5) gave up nine hits and four runs in four innings to take the loss. Corbin had gone 3-0 with a 2.77 earned run average since being recalled Aug. 1.
