Carlos Gonzalez hit three homers in a game for the first time in his career Wednesday in boosting the Colorado Rockies to a 13-5 blasting of Houston. Michael Cuddyer hit a grand slam homer for the Rockies in the first inning, but Houston rallied to tie it at 5-5 through three innings. Gonzalez then hit a solo shot in the fifth, a two-run homer in the sixth and another solo blast in the eighth. He ran his home run total for the year to 13. Dexter Fowler also hit a three-run homer for Colorado during its six-run sixth. The long-ball explosion brought the Rockies their third straight victory. Christian Friedrich (3-1) got the win even though he gave up 11 hits and five runs in six innings. Colorado roughed up Lucas Harrell (4-4) for nine runs in five-plus innings.
