Australia captain Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to bat against Derbyshire in a three-day tour match at Derby on Thursday.

Fresh from their 405-run thrashing of England in the second Test at Lord's on Sunday which levelled the five-match series at 1-1, Australia made several changes to their side.

Opening batsman Shaun Marsh, fast bowlers Peter Siddle and Pat Cummins, leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed and wicket-keeper Brad Haddin were all included after missing out at Lord's.

First-choice gloveman Haddin missed the second Test at Lord's for "family reasons", with Peter Nevill impressing on his Test debut.

Both players were named in the side to face Derbyshire, with the pair set to share wicket-keeping duties ahead of the third Test at Edgbaston starting on July 29.

Second Division county Derbyshire's side included New Zealand batsman Hamish Rutherford.

But they omitted left-arm seamer Mark Footitt, called up into England's pre-Ashes training camp but yet to win an international cap.
