Australia made 222 for six in 40.2 overs after winning the toss before rain at Belfast's Stormont ground brought the first innings of their lone one-day international against Ireland on Thursday to a halt.

David Warner top-scored with 84 while fellow opener Joe Burns made 69 on his one-day international debut.

Ireland paceman Tim Murtagh took two for 45 in 10 overs.
