Yemen\'s Ahemd Aziz lifted boys\' singles title while his compatriot Shaema Al Olfi won the girls\' singles final of the ITF West Asia U-13 Development Tennis Championship that concluded at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex yesterday. In the boys\' final, third seed Ahmed Aziz of Yemen defeated compatriot and seventh seed player Fahmi Al Ward 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to grab the title. In the girls final, top-seed Shaema beat second seed Sdaf Vaziri of Iran 6-2, 6-3. Earlier in the day, Oman\'s Maryam Al Balushi beat compatriot Shahrazad al Barakat 6-2, 6-3 in the play-off game. Consolation for Salma In consolation round games, Oman\'s Salma Al Sharji beat Syria\'s Aya Khalaf 2-4, 5-4, 10-8 while Talia Al Balushi defeated Bou Abdu of Libya 2-4, 5-3, 4-0.The tournament was organised by Oman Tennis Association (OTA) and was played in two halves from September 25 to October 3. After two weeks of competition, Syria\'s Hazem Naw finished on top with 490 ITF points among 31 competitors while Aziz (440) finished second and Ward third. In the girls category, Shaema (660) finished first, Sdaf (500) second and Saba Najaf (400) of Iran third among 15 girls. OTA chairman Mutassim Al Zadjali handed over the prizes to the winners.
