The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, UAEJJF, and the Fujairah Martial Arts Club are organising the first Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Ramadan Jiu-Jitsu Championship on 2nd June.
The one-day championship, which will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and the UAE Sports Personality in 2016, will be held at the Khalifa Hall in Fujairah with the participation of male and female competitors from around the world, as well as international UAE champions, in both Gi and No-Gi competitions. The UAEJJF is supervising the championship and the call for applications is officially open on its website.
Yussuf Al Batran, UAEJJF Board Member and Club Affairs Officer, stressed that the first Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Ramadan Jiu-Jitsu Championship is considered an exceptional competition in the UAE, due to its local importance and prominent position. He also noted the Fujairah International Jiu-Jitsu Championship that was held a couple of years ago and the large turnout it witnessed.
Al Batran congratulated H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi on the Holy Month of Ramadan while praising the role of the UAEJJF in organising the championship in Fujairah, to promote and develop the sport on a larger scale and assess the performance of UAE competitors in general and Fujairah competitors in particular.
Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Vice President and Executive Director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, expressed their desire to effectively organise the championship, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, by applying the best standards in jiu-jitsu, to attract the best competitors.
