The U-17 Arab Cup, held in Tunisia, and the U-20 Arab Cup, held in Jordan, are organized under the auspices of the Union of Arab Football Associations. This year’s tournaments represent the second iteration of these Arab Cup youth competitions, which are held annually. The performances of the Tunisian national teams, which are making their first appearances in both age categories, have been marked by impressive ascensions to the final rounds of both tournaments. The U-17 Tunisian team, which finished at the top of their group in the first stage of the competition, defeated Morocco in the semi-final on Friday. The winner of the closely contested match was decided by penalty kicks, from which Tunisia emerged victorious with a score of 4-2. The final, to be played tonight in Monastir, will set Tunisia’s U-17 squad against Iraq. The U-20 Tunisian team also spared no effort to ensure its place in the final round of the tournament. The squad has been touted as one of the best generations in Tunisian soccer history, particularly after defeating Brazil in April in the Aspire Cup. The promising squad reached the semi final after defeating Iraq 5-3 in the thrilling final match of the group-stage of the tournament. Tunisia’s U-20 squad narrowly defeated its neighbor, Algeria, in the semi-final round with a 3-2 result. Tunisia will play Saudi Arabia in the final on Wednesday in the Amman International Stadium.
