Almarai recovered from a poor shooting percentage in the first half to beat Luna 1 77-75 in the t2012 Perfetto Basketball Tournament organized by Industrial Sports Association (ISA) at Industrial City Dawa Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah. Gregori scored 29 points and Serra added 16 as Almarai found its offensive rhythm after Luna I had led in each of the first two quarters. In the pulsating third quarter, Almarai head coach Edwin Villareal made an adjustment, putting Corpuz and Serra for defensive purposes against Cainila and Cudal who struggled and became scoreless. Tandoc scored 7 points for Luna I but Gregori maintained his composure and scored 10 point while helping out on defense as Almarai took the lead 57-53. Monteza and Cudal got Luna I back in the game with less than two minutes in the game, but Gregori never backed down. With 23 seconds to play, he made a crucial blocked shot in the painted area against Tandoc and had 6 points in the fourth quarter to become the Best Player of the game. It was a Luna double whammy as Bimbo Sillano and Hernandez carried Sesab in the second half to a come-from-behind 68-55 victory over Luna II. Bimbo scored only 7 points and Hernandez held to only 4 points by Luna II in the early minutes of the game. But Bimbo then came alive to score 14 points in the third quarter alone to help Sesab grab the lead at the end of the period 47-39. Bimbo totaled 22 points and Hernandez added 13 to share the Best Player of the game award. Bolarde and Parducho teamed up beautifully in a 69-67 Al-Yamamah victory over Jamjoom in overtime. Al-Yamamah boys had a great first quarter when they scored 19 to only 12 for Jamjoom. Temson and Alphuerto led a Jamjoom rally that gave their team a 32-30 advantage after the first half. The regulation period ended 60-60. In the extra five minutes, Bolarde maintained his composure to score five points and pull critical rebounds while Parducho added 4 including his crucial two free throws with three seconds left to seal the game. Prducho was named Best Player of the game. Finetool survived a 34-point performance from Ocampo to down Alqatani 74-70 in an exciting battle down the wire. Canonigo also enjoyed a superb game for Finetool, scoring 20 points to emerged the best player. In the first quarter, only two points separated both teams but Canonigo scored three consecutive baskets and with support from teammates put Finetool in the driver’s after the first half of action ended. The third quarter ended 53-47 to Finetool.
