The General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) has clinched the shield of best youth practices in the Arab World.
The prize was awarded to GOYS on the sidelines of the First Arab Forum for Best Youth Practices, recently organized by the Arab League in the United Arab Emirates.
His Majesty’s Personal Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Chairman (SCYS) and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa received the shield.
The pan-Arab award is in recognition of the pioneering Youth City, a key project spearheaded by GOYS in a bid to train youth, hone their skills, arm them with scientific and practical expertise and produce youth leaders so as to integrate them into the labour market and enable them to contribute to the development efforts.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad seized the occasion to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for the royal vision which aspires to promote the "builders of Bahrain’s future".
He acknowledged the importance of the pan-Arab award as reflecting Bahrain’s landmark strides in promote youth, training them and honing their skills.
In a statement on this occasion, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said that the award augurs good for the Kingdom of Bahrain as it steps up preparations to celebrate Manama Capital of Arab Youth in 2015.
GOYS President Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowder commended the role of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for supporting youth moment in Bahrain, paying tribute to SCYS secretary-general Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa for following-up all youth events and functions.
