HM King's Representatives for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council of Youth and Sports Affairs (SCYS)'s Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC)'s President His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized the importance of compliance with international health, safety and security standards specifications in youths and sports facilities that ensure the public, employees and users safety.
This came as His Highness received the certificate of vocational health, safety obtained by the General Organisation of Youth and Sports (GOYS) as the first governmental organisation in the Kingdom to receive this certification after passing external auditing by the granting company.
The certificate is considered the first in the world in the field of vocational safety and health approval as per international standards and specifications designed to maintain the safety and health of employees in all facilities aimed to create a safe and hygienic workplace for all employees and users.
His Highness praised the GOYS keenness on enforcement of all safety and health requirements in all of the Kingdom's sports facilities and their development especially in terms of international standards and specifications, ergonomics, vocational safety and health of all employees and users in sports facilities.
The GOYS's President Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowder, praised the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa regarding construction of safe and secure sports and youth facilities in Bahrain up to highest international standards in order to host various sports events, protect the users of these facilities, lauding the constant follow up on the part of the SCYS's Secretary-General Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa and his keenness on following up all the relevant safety procedures in sports and youth facilities.
Al-Jowder said that the GOYS will work continuously in order to apply all ergonomics safety and health regulations up to highest international specifications, including several steps such as consolidation of health, safety and environmental policy, revision, planning, practical applications, ensure the performance of health, safety and environment, stressing that everybody are aware of the significance of introducing improvements, regular development of systems and to maintain the concept of improvement and ensure the efficiency of all systems.
