The Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club today announced the appointment of Mr Fin Powrie as Chief Racing Administrator.
The appointment follows a significant change to the club’s administrative structure in order to further develop horse racing and equestrian activities, and enhance the level of high quality competition, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mr Powrie will lead the club’s new team as Chief Racing Administrator. He has previously held senior administrative racing positions in Dubai, India, New Zealand, and his home country, Australia.
Mr Powrie’s significant international experience includes chairing the first International Stewards’ Conference at the 31st Asian Racing Conference in 2007. Mr Powrie is also credited with planning and directing the Dubai International Racing Carnival when he was Director of Racing and Chief Steward at the Emirates Racing Authority.
The Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club will host its first race day of the new racing season on Friday 7 November 2014.
